ST GREGORY PALAMAS (Triads 1.3.42)

St Gregory Palamas Orthodox Mission (ROCOR) is an Orthodox Christian community under the omophorion (leadership) of His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada and is an English-language mission of the Canonical Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russian. The community is dedicated to striving to live an authentic Christian life that places the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, and his Body, at the center of our worship and spiritual formation as it has been preserved and passed down through the Orthodox Christian experience over more than 2,000 years. We are a Trinitarian church and part of the Orthodox Christian community of canonical Eastern Orthodox Churches spread across the globe.

Our community in Fredericton, New Brunswick, has been in existence since December of 2019 and has offered weekly Sunday Divine Liturgies since that time. Our community is a melding of Slavic liturgical practice & byzantine music, and all our services are conducted in English. The community is multi-ethnic and includes a mix of Canadian converts, Ukrainians, Latvians, Romanians, Russians, Greeks, Serbs, etc. In this way, the mission tries to uphold the best of these traditions, rooted in the Slavic Orthodoxy that continues to nurture us, while remaining united first of all in our dedication to our shared Orthodox faith in our Lord God & Saviour Jesus Christ.
